Our Lady of Fatima High School established an all new Dance Team in the fall of 2009. Since then we have had two successful years of dancing at the Boys Basketball games, Holiday Talent show, Homecoming and Cultural Diversity week performances. Previous dance training is not necessary to join the team, but a commitment to hard work, a positive attitude and a love of dance are required. The girls begin practice over the summer and meet at 426 Fitness in Warren RI. We begin our routines there in the Just Dance, dance studio and continue throughout the year with regular practices and performances at Fatima. The majority of our performances are in the winter, but we continue training and fitness throughout the spring as well. We incorporate jazz, hip-hop and ballet in our routines with an emphasis on allowing student collaboration with choreography. Our hope is that the performances will increase school spirit, enhance the games and hopefully encourage more students and families to attend events.
Community service is also a component of our team. Our team has been involved in many Community Service Projects. A few of our projects have been for Hasbro Children’s Hospital as well as The Bristol Animal Shelter and the Warren Women’s Shelter. Working together on and off the dance floor helps build a united team.
