FATIMA STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE WASHINGTON, D.C.
MARCH FOR LIFE
Each year Fatima High School students have participated in the March for Life in Washington D.C.
In past years the contingent has attended the Mass at the Basilica and listened to Pro Life Speakers at the Hyatt Regency before participating in the march. This year was the second year Fatima High students participated in the Youth Rally/Youth Mass which began at 7:30 am at the Washington Verizon Center.
Every year FATIMA recognizes their student leaders at a special awards ceremony. Student leaders do not have to hold an elected leadership position to be recognized. The NASSP selects a different theme every year. The criteria for the award is based on a theme. The 2011 theme was: Student Leaders Saving Lives Through Service And Leadership. The criteria included making every student feel welcome at FATIMA, treating all students equally, demonstrating positive school spirit, being respectful to all, involvement in school activities that promote helping others and making safe decisions and promoting safe decisions.
